Eliminate Ist Tee Nerves

November 22nd, 2011

The best way to eliminate nerves is obviously to practise preferably with suitable golf training aids and have confidence in you ability.

However, if you are getting nervous or uptight then try then try the following:

• Take a series of short inhalations, about one per second, until your chest is filled.
• Hold for 5-10 seconds.
• Then exhale slowly for 10 seconds while thinking to yourself the word relax (or calm or easy).
• Notice your body becoming more and more relaxed, as all the tension leaves your body.
• Repeat this process at least 5 times, each time striving to deepen the state of relaxation you are experiencing.

And remember no matter how important it seems at the time, it’s just a game and should be enjoyed!

T2Hole Franchise

November 1st, 2011

What’s it like having a t2hole golf franchise? Here’s what Buckinghamshire franchisee David King has to say……..

I decided to join T2Hole after meeting with Stuart and being totally impressed both by him his excellent Golf Improvement System and Denis Pugh’s endorsement.

As a keen but poor golfer, feeling that I should be considerably better than my scores suggested, I saw the potential of the GIS immediately. This proved to be a true judgement as my play showed improvement within a couple of weeks of use. My game is improving and confidence increasing.

It seem natural then to take a franchise and get out and spread the word also the prospect of working with Professionals and players in pleasant surrounding and company was also a great incentive.

Stuart has proven to be exceptional helpful, knowledgeable and supportive in starting of my business, and I’m looking forward to the future improving my own game and enabling many other frustrated golfers to do the same, as well as developing a profitable business for myself.

Is it time to ban the belly Putter?

October 21st, 2011

What do you think about the belly putter debate?

Is it a form of cheating, giving an unfair advantage?

Or are they just as likely to help you miss putts?

The past year has seen a seemingly massive increase in the use of the belly putter. Golfers that you NEVER thought would even consider using them are, such as Ernie, Phil and Monty…..not to mention a reported 60-65% of US college golfers!

So what’s all the fuss about? Well basically a great number of very well respected golfing figures believe that they give you an unfair advantage by the fact that they are anchored to your body, hence taking a lot of uncertainty out of a Putting stroke, and also reducing the dreaded YIPS!

Interestingly, new putter companies such as YES Golf haven’t produced a belly putter YET!

I spent eight months of my golfing life using a belly putter and I personally found that it did give me some advantages, but also, some disadvantages, like some loss of feel! Is it six of one and half a dozen of another? I’m back using a standard putter now and happy with that decision.

So should the R&A ban them, let us know your thoughts?

One sure way to improve your putting is to use our fabulous Putt Guide for just 1-2 minutes a day, so why not purchase your every own putting aid today with a special 25% Discount (enter code PGSD25 valid until 31st Oct 2011), if you’re not putting better within a month just send it back for a FULL refund! The R&A can’t ban this!

Happy Golfing!

How did it all start

October 7th, 2011

A personal message from the founder of T2hole – Stuart Willis.

Just over five years ago I picked up a golf club and very quickly became hooked on this fabulous game.

Like most beginners there were all sorts of swing problems, in my case a slice. Not being content with mediocrity, I wanted to fix this Slice and this is when the fun started!

I was soon having lessons, reading every golf magazine available and basically doing whatever I could to improve my game. It soon became apparent whilst studying the swings of Professional Golfers, that they were all slightly different; you only have to watch Jim Furyk to see what I mean.  So what made these Professions so good, what was the common denominator?

The simple answer is ‘the impact zone’ (the six inches before & after the ball), all these great golfers were extremely consistent through the impact zone.  So that’s where I started my quest to build the ultimate golf training aid.

It was really a bit of reverse engineering, us golfers needed a template, a stencil of the correct golf swing. We needed a device that could let us feel what a great swing should feel like, but at the same time it had to be forgiving and give us feedback whilst our bodies adjusted to this new swing.

Then came the Eureka moment, why didn’t we simply cut the perfect Swing Path into a channel for bristles?

I used the money from the sale of our home and business to fund the project and instructed a Firm of Industrial designers to help develop the concept.

Not being one to do things by halves, I wanted to develop a really comprehensive teaching and practise system, a product that would address not just Swingpath, but alignment, angle of attack, a product that could help you with your whole game, from driving to chipping and putting. A product that could be customised for each individual.

After two and a half years of research, testing, tweaking, blood sweat and tears we had finally done it, and the Golf Improvement System was born! The world’s first and only total improvement system.

Golf Pitching Tips

September 30th, 2011

Interested in golf pitching tips? For those of you who haven’t signed up for our fantastic golf school with Denis Pugh here’s a taste of what you’re missing.

A very under practised and hugely important area is pitching; from 100 yards in is where the Professionals are really different to the average club player. It really comes down to distance control and good alignment.

If you have golf practice equipment such as the Stance Master or Golf Improvement system then use them for this drill, if you don’t then make do with some golf clubs carefully positioned on the ground.

Assignment

• Do a quarter swing with all your wedges, note the distance of each
• Do a half swing with all your wedges, note the distance of each
• Do a three quarter swing with all your wedges, note the distance of each
• Do a full swing with all your wedges, note the distance of each

(print and keep this chart in your golf bag and refer to it when you play)

You will now have a total range of Golf Pitching Shots, fantastic for those in between distances. The above exercise WILL KNOCK SHOOTS OF YOUR GAME!

The next BIG thing for teaching?………

September 23rd, 2011

Whilst most coaches have a favoured swing method, whether it be ‘stack & tilt’, or ‘Hogan’s’ principles the one thing that all teaching Pros can agree on is the massive importance of a good consistent Set-Up.

This fact was echoed by one of the world’s top coaches David Leadbetter, he believes that up to 95% of a golfer problems can be traced back to Set-Up!

So why in an age where we regularly custom fit golf clubs and even golf balls, don’t we custom fit golfers Set-up? Which is arguably the most important of them all?

I know that when I started up golf I used to ask myself how was I set up for an 8 iron, where was my ball position? How far apart were my feet? Am I standing to close to the ball? And so on…

So whilst developing the ever popular T2hole golf training aid the Golf Improvement System, one thing I was adamant about, was that you could have your Set-Up customised, meaning you never ever had to worry about the correct positioning in your Set-Up ever again.

Master Professional Denis Pugh says ‘the 15-20 minutes you spend with your PGA Pro is a great investment, it will serve you for the rest of your golfing time. Once the Set-Up is right, it stays right and that’s the consistency we’re all looking for’

So for those of you that really want to improve remember the importance of a correct and consistent Set-Up.

The Controlled Golf Swing

September 1st, 2011

At T2hole our ethos is to improve your golf. Over the course of the next few weeks, this blog will reveal the crucial elements that are required to perfect the golf swing.

A great golf swing is all about having complete control of the club and your movements. As you watch the professionals play on Sundays and win major tournaments you notice one thing: their control brings them to the same point at impact. The speed of the club, the angle of the club, and the brands of clubs are different from golfer to golfer. What is the same is that each golfer has his club face square and his hands and wrists in proper position when impact occurs. If you consciously control these aspects of your swing and become consistent in them each swing will result in a straight, playable ball on any course in world.

Why PGA Qualified Instruction Can Help You

April 28th, 2011

Golf is both a great outdoors sport and a social setting for whether it be for business for pleasure. Golf courses are wide open areas with lush green fairways, sand traps and rolling hills. Golf gives golfers a chance to get outdoors without having to hike through forests or the great outdoors with all the obstacles these present.

Golf also gives business people the opportunity to discuss business deals and strategies in an informal atmosphere. Getting away from conference rooms, business suits, ties and uncomfortable dress shoes encourages people to express thoughts on business without the fear of reprisal. After all, it’s just a game. Golf courses are terrible settings for industrial spying. There are no co-workers wandering by to eavesdrop on them.

The best way to learn and continue to improve golf performance and techniques is with a PGA qualified instructor such as Denis Pugh. PGA instructors spend several years learning their trade via instruction from other professional golfers, extensive classroom study and practice at the driving range and on the fairways. They are trained to observe students and instruct them on methods to improve their skills. PGA instructors can help new golfers develop valuable skills quickly and help experienced golfers fine tune their skills.

Success at the PGA Merchandise Show Orlando

March 31st, 2011

T2Hole took their unique comprehensive golf training aid system to the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando and received considerable acclaim from the golf professionals, buyers and distributors who visited their stand during the 4 days of the Show.

T2 Hole were allocated a stand at the front of the many training aids on display, adjacent to the Golf Channel stand where celebrities were interviewed and a short distance from the huge Titleist Stand. The Show is for trade only and consists of a demo day at an enormous circular driving range in Orange County and then three days of intense activity at the Orange County Convention Centre where there are more than 10 miles of stands displaying every golf product conceivable.

During the show T2Hole gave demonstrations to several hundred potential buyers from around the world including the former coach to Tiger Woods, Hank Haney who spent some 20 minutes talking to them on the stand and was very enthusiastic about the system. Also George Bush turned up surrounded by security staff, unfortunately it wasn’t the man himself just a convincing look alike!

Most of the other training aids on display were gimmicks or gadgets including a hat fixed to a metal frame designed to stop you moving your head! Just think of the comments on the driving range! T2hole was commended because the system is based on maths and geometry and is simple to use, light, portable and strong. In fact they claim it will last a lifetime and is the only golf training aid that will improve your driving short game and putting all in the one product.

The T2Hole Golf Improvement System was invented by Stuart Willis who only took up the game some 4 or 5 years ago. Being the obsessive sort of guy he is, he took lessons from various coaches and was shown shoe boxes, bits of wood, Tee Pegs etc to help with his swing. This set him thinking that there must be a more scientific way of practising and improving your golf. He came up with the idea of a pair of bristles cut to the correct swing path so that the club wouldn’t be harmed when practising. The advantage is that the golfer has immediate visual and audio feed back for swing faults. He added to this concept the idea that there is a relationship between the height of the golfer, the length of the club and the distance from the ball and took that idea to create an alignment and set up guide from which the golfer can practise accurately from the same position every time they visit the Driving Range.

Adding these two ideas together, refining and designing them has led to the T2Hole Golf Improvement System which is the World’s one and only comprehensive training aid, covering all aspects of the golfing game. The product which is made in the UK comes with an instructional dvd by Denis Pugh showing the golfer how to use the system to improve their game, practise learning to draw or fade the ball and improve their chipping and putting. The problem Stuart has is that the system does so much that it takes a long time to explain its potential to buyers. It’s great in these difficult times to hear of a British inventor with a fabulous product promoting the product abroad and mixing it with the big boys in Orlando.
